Bradwell B ground investigations

In order to develop our proposals for the Bradwell B power station project we are required to undertake surveys to understand the conditions at site. As part of this process we are planning to undertake a range of surveys on site starting at the end of March. These include ground investigation surveys which help us determine the ground conditions, ground water levels and the makeup of the soil on the site.

These types of surveys are small scale and therefore do not require planning permission, we have however notified the district council. These works will be followed by more extensive ground investigations works later in the year.

The works will all take place within fenced safety areas and you may see members of our team in high visibility clothing conducting the surveys. All traffic related to these surveys will be subject to strict rules onsite, including enforced speed limits.

These surveys are currently scheduled to take place as described but we are constantly monitoring the situation relating to Covid-19, including following the guidance set out by Public Health England.  As such the surveys may be subject to change. We will be taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff onsite and all those who could be affected by the works on site.  In any event we will ensure that the site is maintained in a safe manner, which is our priority.
