Bradwell-on-Sea Residents Letter – 6 September 2022
We recently wrote to people living in the Bradwell-on-Sea parish with an update on the project. This update includes information on recent meetings and current site works.
You can read the update below.
We are writing to inform you of some minor work on the Bradwell B site over the coming months.
Reinstatement of bore holes
Between 2018 and 2020 the Bradwell B project undertook early investigative surveys on the proposed site of the Bradwell B power station. This involved drilling boreholes and taking soil samples to understand the conditions at site to support engineering analysis.
The work is now complete, so we are removing the boreholes and restoring the land in order for the local landowners to once again use these areas for crops.
This work will take place from mid-September. Work will be limited to weekdays, taking place in normal working hours. No work will be carried out within any residential area and it is not expected to have an impact on the local community.
Site compound
After the above work has taken place, we will be closing the current site compound, including removing the temporary site offices. This work will be completed by the end of the year. These facilities were put in place to support our initial site activities.
Next phase of ground investigation work
Last year, we received planning permission to conduct further temporary ground investigation and load testing works. At this stage, we do not anticipate the work taking place in 2023. When we have a programme of work we will ensure our neighbouring communities are kept informed.
