Ground Investigations – Update

Since the full impact of COVID-19 and the Government’s response has become apparent, we would like to provide an update as to how we will proceed with our ground investigation surveys.

Some essential ecological, marine and geological site surveys will be progressing on the Bradwell main site under strict conditions and in adherence of the UK Government’s requirements for social distancing and other practices to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Extensive measures have been implemented to ensure the health and safety of our staff and the public. This includes social distancing being observed within the small teams carrying out the surveys, and actions which avoid contact with other people, particularly members of the local community, such as housing our staff on site rather than using local accommodation. Only where the work has been deemed essential – for example because of the need to maintain a continuous set of survey data to support environmental assessment – and where it is practical to implement these measures, will the work take place.

The Bradwell B Project continues to review and monitor the situation closely for any changes in advice, guidance or regulations. If necessary, we will postpone survey works where UK Government measures or our own safety reviews indicate that this is the best course of action.
